Full Day Hands-on immersive Classes. All equipment, tools and materials are provided. Just bring your lunch! Each Class runs from 9am to 4pm. $40 per class.
Class sizes are limited. The classes are appropriate for Adults and Teens, 14 years and older.
Location: Butler County Extension Office, 101 Motorpool Way, Building #10, Lower level, Butler, PA 16001. There is plenty of parking. Building is handicap accessible.
Introduction to Weaving

This is your chance to find out what weaving is all about! You will plan your project, warp a loom and weave a Mug Rug (coaster) which is yours to keep! No previous experience required.
Exploring Weave Structures – Intermediate Class

You will learn to read a weaving pattern draft, understand a variety of weave structures, then weave samples of each, using floor looms and table looms. You will then take home your wonderful samples.
This year we will explore 8 harness twill variations and 4 harness overshot weaving
Previous weaving experience and a basic understanding of weaving drafts is required. Our introduction course is enough.

Card Weaving

For centuries, weavers have woven intricately patterned ribbons and tapes for decorative and practical use. In this class you will learn how to weave these wonderful tapes on tape looms. By manipulating weaving cards, you will create the desired pattern. No previous experience is required.
